Effective Date: January 2, 2026 · Last Updated: January 2, 2026

2W Inc. ("2Wander," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect information when you use our websites, mobile applications, and related services (collectively, the "Services").

By using the Services, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide, information collected automatically when you use the Services, and limited information from third-party services you choose to use.

a. Information you provide

  • Account information such as name, email address, and password.
  • Profile information such as a profile photo, bio, visibility settings, and preferences.
  • Trip content you create, including itineraries, notes, activities, stays, packing items, and shared collaboration content.
  • Budget and expense information you choose to enter, including receipts or receipt images you choose to upload (optional).
  • Messages and communications with other users (crew collaboration).
  • Support requests, feedback, and other communications you send us.

b. Information collected automatically

  • Device and app information (device type, operating system, app version, language, and similar identifiers).
  • Usage information (features used, actions taken, timestamps, and performance data).
  • Purchase and subscription status (for example, entitlement/plan status returned by your app store or subscription provider).
  • Approximate location derived from IP address when using our website.
  • Crash logs and diagnostics.

c. Location information

If you enable location services, the mobile app can access your location while you are using the app to show your position on maps and help you plan trips. You can control location permissions in your device settings.

d. Photos, camera, microphone, and media library

If you choose to use features that require them, the mobile app can access your camera (for photos and receipt scanning), photo library (to pick or save images), and microphone (for voice notes). You can control these permissions in your device settings.

e. Third-party services and content sources

Some features rely on third-party services to operate (for example, hosting, authentication, push notifications, mapping/geocoding, and analytics). When you use those features, relevant information may be sent to those providers to fulfill your request.

2. How We Use Information

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Services (including account creation, authentication, and syncing your data across devices).
  • Enable core travel planning features (trips, itineraries, collaboration, budgeting, and reminders).
  • Process content you submit to deliver requested features (for example, extracting receipt text or categorizing expenses when you request it).
  • Personalize the experience (such as preferences and saved content).
  • Improve and debug the Services (including crash/diagnostic analysis).
  • Communicate with you about updates, security, and support.
  • Protect the Services and our users (fraud prevention, abuse detection, and enforcement of our terms).
  • Comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.

3. AI-Enabled Features (Expense Categorization)

The mobile app can provide optional AI-assisted expense categorization and related suggestions. When you use these features, we may process the information you provide (such as merchant text, receipt text, notes, amounts, and dates) to generate suggestions. You remain in control of what you save.

4. How We Share Information

We do not sell personal information. We share information only in limited circumstances:

  • With your crew: content you share within a trip is visible to invited participants based on your settings.
  • With service providers: vendors that support hosting, authentication, storage, communications, analytics, and security (they process data on our behalf under contractual obligations).
  • For legal and safety reasons: to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, prevent fraud or abuse, or protect rights, property, and safety.
  • In connection with business transfers: if we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets (we will take steps to protect your information).

5. Data Retention

We retain information only as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. You may request account deletion; we will delete or de-identify information where feasible, subject to legal or operational requirements.

6. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain processing of your personal information. You can change many settings directly in the app (for example, profile visibility and notification preferences).

You can also contact us at legal@2wander.app for privacy requests. We may need to verify your identity before responding.

California privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA)

California residents may have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, delete, and correct certain personal information. 2Wander does not sell personal information as defined by these laws.

EEA/UK privacy rights (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, you may have additional rights under the GDPR, including the right to access, correct, delete, restrict processing, object to processing, and data portability. Where applicable, you may also have the right to withdraw consent. We process personal information under lawful bases such as providing the Services (contract), legitimate interests (service improvement and security), and consent (where required).

7. Cookies and Analytics

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to operate and understand usage. The mobile app may use analytics when enabled for measuring feature usage and improving reliability. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

8. Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. International Transfers

Your information may be processed in the United States or other jurisdictions where we or our service providers operate. These jurisdictions may have different data protection laws. We take steps designed to ensure transfers comply with applicable law.

10. Children's Privacy

The Services are not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

11. Third-Party Links

The Services may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for their privacy practices. We encourage you to review third-party privacy policies.

12. Policy Updates

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the Services after the updated policy becomes effective means you have read and understood the changes.
